Home Staging Tips for the Room with Aquarium

Can you imagine fish that are trained to provide body massage to people? Animals activists should not worry. No harm to fish, just the opposite. Fish love it.

Fish bite people gently, eating their dead skin. And since human skin regenerates fairly quickly, fish always have something to eat.

It feels like a kiss. Fish help open skin pores and improve blood circulation. It is a pleasure, not a treatment, but patients who tried eco-friendly massage say they completely cured psoriasis.

After 'fish massage' their skin felt young and soft, and they were relaxed and full of energy.

Fish are mysterious, gracious and beautiful, no wonder a lot of people have them at home. Aquarium is the only decor element that is always in style. It entertains our friends and family members.

Fish aquariums always attract so much attention that it creates a challenge for home staging and rearranging furniture.

Of course, if aquarium tank is small, it can be easily moved, but medium to large fish aquariums make home staging a bit complicated.

Well, sometimes it is possible to move even a large aquarium, but more often home staging tips and techniques must be applied without changing the position of aquarium tank.

Generally, fish aquariums can't be moved somewhere without thinking about fish. Home staging and room redesign should be thoughtful and 'eco-friendly.'  Nobody wants fish to die just because the owner is rearranging furniture and repositioning aquarium tank while preparing house for sale.

1. Natural soft light is very important for fish, but the lack of light can be compensated by electrical aquarium lighting systems. If there is too much light, it is very difficult to correct. Algae will grow faster, and soon the water quality will become unacceptable.

Aquariums should have enough light, but they can not be exposed to direct sunlight longer than for 2 -3 hours.

2. The spot for fish aquarium should be quiet. Doors and walking people can cause a lot of stress to fish. To find a quiet spot for aquarium, which will be the room's focal point, is  another challenge for home staging.

3. Aquariums should not be arranged near the fridge, the TV or other appliances. Fish do not like vibration and noises. Home staging changes should be pet-friendly.

4. Aquariums should be easily reached for feeding fish and cleaning. Home staging transformations in the room should allow an unobstructed access to the tank.

5. Aquariums should not be placed close to a source of heat. Yes, home staging is more complex in a room with aquarium. Most likely a home stager would need to rearrange furniture, but it should be done so that fish stay alive and happy.

One of basic home staging recommendations is to keep window curtains open during showings. It visually expands the space and increases its size.

While creating more appealing to potential buyers, light and bright rooms that sell homes, home staging should create comfortable, moderately lit and  soft environment for fish in home aquarium.

Home staging and kids

Sometimes it can be difficult to accomplish simultaneously, then a home stager may suggest moving fish to the owner friend's house until the property is sold.

Small children living in the house can get upset about it, then parents need to talk to little fans of aquatic life patiently and figure out how to move fish without causing more stress to their kids. Of course, it is better to avoid such home staging decision, if possible.

In this case aquarium decorating with figurines, colored beads, shells, sand, small plastic toys, artificial plants and rocks in the water is very effective home staging technique.

Home aquarium helps keep the humidity level constant and naturally creates healthier environment in the house. Turn aquarium light on, the soft lighting increases the property's appeal. 

Fish aquarium can be an impressive art piece that the home interior benefits from, but only when it is taken care of, properly arranged and decorated in professionally staged room.
