Bathroom Decorating in Blue-Brown, Chocolate Inspiration

It is very interesting how Elsie Marley, inspired by dark chocolate, decorated her bathroom.

Chocolate, white and green-blue colors create bathroom decor that support the eco-trend in 2010 interior decorating.

The small bathroom look larger and lighter.

People have different preferences and opinions about the perfect bathroom decorating and colors.

Some of us like the philosophical simplicity of Japan, its limited amount of bathroom decor items and color contrast, like dark chocolate and white sugar color scheme.

Others admire the mysterious style of India and use colorful palettes for bathroom decorating, including deep blue and green-blue shades.

Paint bathroom walls with the colors you like and brake the rules for creating truly personal interior.

Enjoy deep colors, like chocolate, white, and deep blue to design refreshing color contrasts.

Choose round-shaped relaxing bathroom fixtures, create your own bathroom decoration or bathroom wall tile pattern, and buy matching bathroom towels that look cute to you.

Choose the theme of neutral colors, like the chocolate cake with white sugar icing, add blue paint and green house plants for creating a modern color scheme for attractive bathroom decorating that you will enjoy.

Only if you think about selling your home soon the approach to the bathroom decorating should be different. If so, follow home staging recommendations and choose neutral colors and simple style for the bathroom's universal appeal.

Bathrooms sell homes, and it is very important to design and decorate the comfortable, safe, functional and pleasant bathroom at home. Meg proved that even gloomy and cramped space will look fresh and spacious if the project is approached creatively.

Why I called Elsie Marley Meg? Well, that's what she wrote about herself:

'I am a mother of three and wife to one. Before I had children I was a chocolatier and a baker. I learned to sew when my first was just a baby and it filled the creative void. Since then I’ve learned to make clothes, plush, quilts, and recently took up crocheting. If you’d like to see where I work and live, you can click over to our house tour on (the sadly defunct) cookie magazine blog. One more thing, my name is Meg, not Elsie. The name of my blog comes from a nursery rhyme about a bar maid:

Elsie Marley’s grown so fine,

She won’t get up to feed the swine,

But lies in bed ’til eight or nine!

Lazy Elsie Marley.

Meg did an excellent bathroom decorating job, designing the bath that looks totally new, bright and pleasant. Meg's home looks spacious and functional also, and she has a lot of creative ideas that can inspire you to de-clutter home and enjoy more space. Bathrooms are among the most popular rooms in the house. We take morning shower and relax in the bath in the evening. We use small bathroom when we are cleaning the house, plus we wash our hands a hundred times a day there. Yes, the bathroom is the place of paramount importance.

Bathroom decorating with lights

Proper bathroom lighting can dramatically change the way even a small bathroom looks. Decorating a bathroom, you have to pay attention to different types of light sources, such as the general bathroom lighting, wall-lighting fixtures, ceiling bathroom fixtures, and a mirror lighting, of course, that helps apply the lipstick. Also consider an additional source of bathroom lighting that can be mounted on the bathroom cabinets and bathroom shelves. There is never too much light in the bathroom.

Bathroom remodeling and staging, as well as redesign and decorating for yourself,  should arrange bathroom furniture that provides enough bathroom storage space, so the bathroom interior will be effective, safe and comfortable.

Bathroom cabinets should be functional, particularly in a small bathroom. Bathroom cabinet doors and drawers should not interfere with each other or block the path.

Open bathroom furniture and open bathroom storage shelves make bathrooms look larger. It does not mean you can store a lot of items on the open bathroom shelves.

Shelves, particularly glass bathroom shelves that are half empty give the bathroom interior an attractive spacious look.

Bathroom storage

Bathroom cabinet and open bathroom storage, as well as all bathroom accessories, should be made of the material that does not accumulate moisture. Heated bathroom floor is great, but it can require to buy bathroom furniture with legs.

And before you buy new bathroom cabinet, carefully measure and plan a new bathroom layout, it can save you time and effort.

Bathrooms should be safe and healthy. It is a good idea to lock the bathroom cabinet drawers where you keep household cleaners, cosmetics or sharp objects, if there are small children at home.

Bathroom air

And finally, damp places attract the mold. To get rid of it is not easy, the mold can penetrate deeply into the bathroom wall. You need to check and repair all the plumbing and regularly clean all damp spots in the bathroom. Effective ventilation system and clean vents help create healthy environment in the bath.
